Disney still offers free maps that you can order from their website and you can customize them to reflect the rides and attractions that you want to see.
This is a good idea so you can go there with some sort of game plan. I always put together at least some sort of tentative itinerary at least for the first few days.
If you’re not familiar with the parks be sure to grab a park map when you enter the park. And while you’re at it get yourself a daily schedule so that you can see what street performances will be going on and at what times.
There are so many little shows and performances that go on in the parks and unless you have the schedule or stumble upon them, you won’t see them.
One of my favorites is the two performers in the World Showcase in Epcot in front of France. Rather comically, they stack wooden chairs and climb to the top. The performance itself is only about 15 minutes and usually brings quite a crowd.
